Regular Events at Children's New World
Throughout the year, our staff offers a number of opportunities for the families of our students to get acquainted and to participate in CNW and community events.
Weekly and Monthly Events at CNW
Every Friday morning, we hold a short assembly called “Good Morning Children.” We review the current week, discuss the following week, and introduce new songs, exercises, visitors, and so on.
The third Monday of the month is CNW Family Night at CiCi’s Pizza. The children enjoy a night out with their families and friends. Be sure to leave your receipt with the cashier. A small percentage is contributed to Children’s New World’s Early Literacy supply fund.
Open House and Festival of the Child
The first Saturday of May we celebrate the school year by having an Open House. We invite the community to come in and see the things we have accomplished throughout the year. After attending Open House we participate in the Festival of the Child which is held at the Yukon Parks. Children's New World is an original corporate sponsor for this event. You can find us at the Painting Station.

- Make sure your child has their school supplies
- Pre-K Parent Night
September
- Provide a family photo for display in the classroom

- Students’ school photos by Vickers Photography
- Pre-K students visit Chester’s Party Barn
November
- Celebrate Thanksgiving
- Healthy food tasting session during class
- Pre-K students will visit the fire department
December
- Christmas caroling during class, weather permitting
- Pre-K evening Christmas program for the families
- School Age Christmas Light Tour
January
- Report cards and progress reports are sent home
- Parent / teacher meetings scheduled
February
- 4-year-olds and Pre-K will make a special Valentine
- 4-year-olds and Pre-K field trip to the post office
March
- Spring break
- National Read Across America
April
- Pre-K nature walk at Boot Hill Park
May
- Children's New World Open House and Yukon Festival of the Child

Annual Open House
An open house is held the first weekend
of May. Children’s artwork, crafts, and learning projects are displayed for
all to enjoy.

Festival of the Child
Children’s New World is pleased
to be an original co-sponsor
of this event, which is held the first Saturday in May at the Yukon Parks.
Children’s wristbands are sold at a discounted price prior to the event. Festival wristbands may be
purchased at CNW as well as
at the Yukon Community Center.
