Curriculum Plans for Individual Groups

Toddlers-

  • Start learning self help skills (feeding themselves, picking up toys, and washing hands)
  • Aid in communicative process -provide non-verbal tools to communicate (sign language)
  • Allow children to explore surroundings in a safe environment.
  • Develop pre-reading skills (Nursery Rhymes, Finger Plays, etc.)

2 Year Old

  • Self help skills (Picking up toys, toileting, hand washing, table manners)
  • Explore surroundings in a safe environment
  • Label 3 shapes: circle, square, and triangle
  • Label 4 colors: red, blue, yellow, and green
  • Know their first name
  • Encourage verbal skills
  • Develop pre-reading skills (Nursery Rhymes, Finger Plays, etc.)

3 Year Old

  • Self help skills (hand washing, toileting, table manners, picking up after self, and dressing self)
  • Label 8 colors: red, yellow, blue, green, purple, black, brown, and orange
  • Know name and birthday
  • Encourage verbal skills
  • Label shapes: circle, square, triangle, and rectangle
  • Develop pre-reading skills (Story Telling, Nursery Rhymes, etc.)
     

4 Year Old

  • Self help skills (hand washing, toileting, table manners, picking up after self, and dressing self)
  • Know their name, birthday, address and telephone number
  • Encourage verbal skills
  • Introduce conflict resolution
  • Encourage pre-reading and writing skills
  • Classify objects by color or size
  • Develop a simple pattern and repeat it

Kindergarten

  • Aid in the transition from Pre-Kindergarten to Elementary School
  • Encourage Self Help Skills
  • Develop conflict resolution
  • Encourage reading and writing skills
  • Classify and graph objects
  • Develop patterns and repeat them
  • Develop a sense of identity of who they are

School Age

  • Encourage Self Help Skills
  • Encourage healthy homework habits
  • Develop conflict resolution
  • Encourage reading and writing skills
  • Classify and graph objects
  • Develop patterns and repeat them
  • Develop a sense of identity of who they are
